What Is LEARN's Distance Learn?
Distance Learning ( DL ) is defined as: “structured learning that takes place without the physical presence of the instructor.”
“For an activity to be considered to be distance learning it should include - at minimum - the following: Physical distance between the student and the teacher, An organization that provides the content –in contrast to purely self-directed learning and Part of a curriculum –Measurement of learning –without which no learning can be observed to have taken place”
LEARN’s distance learning includes all these features.
LEARN’s Options For Learning
• A library of free educational materials that are unstructured and self-paced.
• Structured college-level courses. Both short intense, or full quarter. With voice-over lectures.
• Lower division courses for audit or credit and Advanced courses for credit only.
• Provisions for credit (registered) student’s interaction; students can e-mail the instructor, download copies of lectures and supplements, submit reports, take electronic quizzes, and get technical support. Also, they are required to take part in group discussions on-line. These groups provide a sense of community, interactions and group dynamics that stimulates the learning process.

There are many delivery processes within distance learning, including paper-based, surface-mail correspondence courses.
LEARN uses modern electronic technology to help carry out the Great Commission. This method can potentially reach billions of English speaking people with the truth. Many of whom would not allow a Christian teacher to come into their home or even go to a Christian assembly.
The Internet is free, and reaches world-wide into hundreds of millions of homes, schools, shops, universities, etc., where they can copy on their own printers, all that LEARN presents. Materials are available world-wide, 24/7.
This method does away with the traditional facilities with their expense and need for supervision. Faculty and staff can work out of the convenience of their home or office.
